Farmer's Market - Friday 5, 9am - 5pm

    Solihull's Farmers' Market is a venue for local people, making local food with local ingredients to sell their produce directly to you.

Hampton Ramble – Sun 7, 10:30am (2hrs approx)

  • Meet at car park Packhorse Bridge LNR, Hampton in Arden A ramble around the countryside and basic intro to map reading, so bring a compass and an OS explorer 221 map if you have one. It’s well worth exploring! SC / free / footwear

Dorridge Day – Sun 7

  • Dorridge Park. The Park comes alive with fun for all the family. Join the community for outdoor entertainment, food, stalls and lots more. Organised by Knowle and Dorridge Round Table

Mini-beasts for Beginners - Sat 13 10am-12pm

  • Brueton Park, meet at car park. Learn more about the small creatures that live in the Park and catch examples from both the meadow and woodland to compare these two important habitats. £2adults / 50p children. SC/WWT/family

Heritage Walk - Sun 14 1:30pm (2hrs)

  • Elmdon Park, Church car park off Damson Parkway. Take a walking history tour of this lovely country style Park.SC, Free, family, suitable footwear required.

Forest Skills - Sun 14 11am-3pm

  • York’s Wood- meet at Babbs Mill car park. This popular family event gives everyone the chance to practice basic bush craft skills including den building and use of tools. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring a packed lunch. Project Kingfisher / free event/ suitable footwear required.

Supporting Teenagers with Leukaemia Blythe Valley 5K Fun Run and Cancer Awareness Roadshow : Sun 14 10.30 - 2.00

    Dust off those running shoes and join us at this beautiful country park and help us to help Children and Teenagers Fighting Leukaemia and Other Cancers.
    We would like to encourage schools to take part. This is an excellent way of promoting citizenship by getting your school team together and raising funds half towards the new Teenage Cancer Unit at Birmingham Childrens Hospital and half for your own school funds. The development of the new Teenage Cancer Unit will also free up valuable bedspace on the Childrens Oncology Ward.
    This event is open to all and you can run, jog or walk as individuals, as groups and as families. You can also raise funds for a charity of your choice.
    Designed so that everyone can take part including young and old as well as more serious runners. The mini fun run starts at 11.00am and the 5 kilometre run at 11.30am. Run to be started by a First team player from Birmingham City Football Club
    Trophies will be awarded for the best fancy dress, youngest and oldest participants, fastest male and female (5K)
    Certificates and medals will be issued to all who complete the course

The Big Tidy Up

  • Be a champion – join the tidy up!
    We’re taking part in a tidy up – and we want your help. From September 20th to 28th we are joining Keep Britain Tidy’s national campaign. There will be community clean-ups, events and displays, school competitions and other activities. See the schedule here.

Fruit and Nuts - Sun 21 2pm-4pm

  • Meet at Babbs Mill car park. Join the rangers to go foraging and find out what’s good to eat from the fields and woods in the Cole Valley. Wear suitable outdoor clothing.

    Entry & Sponsor forms can be downloaded from our website, as part of Solihull Festival you will be raising money for a wide range of local charities at the same time as enjoying this very family orientated Fun Run or Fun Walk. As well as serious competitors there are many who come for a healthy stroll with friends, family & children. The Mayor of Solihull will be starting the race and presenting prizes at the end.

FREE Workshop for all the Family- Recycled Fashion

  • Wed 24th Sept, 4.30-6.30pm in the foyer Solihull Central Library
    Come along to this free workshop and turn old paper into clothes and walk down a catwalk in our recycled fashion display! This event is part of the national 'Big Tidy Up' campaign. No experience necessary we will show you how to create your own fashion items. Some of the clothing produced will be displayed later on mannequins around the Arts Complex.
    Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult during the event.

Shirley Christmas Lights Fundraising Concert - Friday 26, 7.30pm

  • Light Hall School
    Shirley Town Centre Partnership have come together with Light Hall Schools and the Fellowship singers of Shirley for a musical concert in aid of raising money for the Shirley Christmas Lights. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children. for more information or to purchase tickets call 0121 704 8752.

Festival in the Park - Sun 28

  • Brueton Park. This is the finale to a week of Festival ’08 arts events, singing and dancing. Bring the family for a bumper filled day of rides, entertainment, local community events and much more organised by the Rotary Club and the Solihull Soroptimists. See local press for further details
