When you need a little more help
LINCS process involves a group of professionals from different services working together to support a child or young person's needs. It helps children get the services they require at the earliest possible stage, to prevent things getting worse.
LINCS can help with any issue that can't be dealt with by a single agency working on its own. Examples might include:
- Problems at school or college, such as bullying or problems with attendance
- Health issues, including mental health issues like depression and anxiety
- Parenting problems such as setting boundaries, difficulties at bedtime or mealtimes
- Money or social problems affecting a child, such as housing issues, or problems with drugs or alcohol
A lead person who is usually already familiar to the family, is the family's point of contact throughout the LINCS process. They keep the family informed and helps them make choices to support their child's needs.
The LINCS team can offer direct support to parents to help them understand how the process works and what to expect from the agencies involved.
