The Family Line Phase 2 - Art & Genealogy

Art exhibition by Eric Gaskell - 13th October - 15th November 08.

Art and Genealogy is a body of work that was originally shown at Rugby early 2008. Eric has further developed his work since then and this exhibition sees these new pieces. The work consists of Paintings, prints, paper models, colour-relief's and typography combine with genealogical research to create a new take on family history. Colourful abstractions and semi-figurative works that have been inspired by the movement of generations of families show that genealogical research is far from dry and dusty. The works are rooted in both the aesthetic traditions of art and the concrete factual detail of the past. The relationship of colour and form being as important to the work as the relations between families

Private view 16th October @ 6 o'clock.

There is also a chance to join in on an arts project with Eric Gaskell. A great opportunity for families to work together to trace their Family history and make artwork to symbolically represent your findings.
