The Prime Minister has called a snap general election to be held on Thursday 8 June 2017.

Statutory Notices relating to the Meriden and Solihull Constituencies will appear here when they are published.

Registering to vote

The deadline to register to vote is Monday 22 May 2017.

If you are not already registered visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

Visit our registering to vote page for more information including how to register for a postal vote or proxy vote.

Key dates

  • Registration - if you are not already registered to vote, then you must do so by Monday 22 May 2017
  • Postal Vote - if you are not able to visit your polling station on polling day then you can apply for a postal vote. Applications must reach Electoral Services by 5.00pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017
  • Proxy Vote - if you are not able to visit your polling station on polling day and you have not applied for a postal vote then you can appoint someone to vote on your behalf as your proxy. Applications must reach Electoral Services by 5.00pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017

If your postal vote application was received by the Electoral Registration Officer before Wednesday 3 May 2017 then your postal vote should be delivered to you around Wednesday 24 May. There will be a second issue of postal votes which should be delivered to voters around Wednesday 31 May.
