Drug Action
Substance misuse - whether involving illegal or legal drugs or alcohol - can devastate lives, cause crime, damage health or kill, and affect relatives, friends, neighbours in many ways.The causes as well as effects of substance misuse cover issues from crime, poverty and abuse to employment, education and health.
Welcome is an independent charity, supported by Solihull Council and Solihull CT, set up to provide a range of different services to support people who experience a range of problems and difficulties as they seek to rebuild their lives after a period of drug misuse.
Welcome provides the following services:
- Drop in centre
- Counselling, advice and support for people affected by drugs
- Support and counselling for families, friends and colleagues of people with a drug related problem
- Needle and syringe exchange
- Community based rehabilitation programme
- Harm Reduction information
- Education and training about drugs issues
