Drug and Alcohol Action

People who misuse drugs, alcohol or other substances can cause considerable harm to themselves and to society. This includes harm to their own physical and mental health and well being. They may harm their families’ lives by affecting the health and well being of their children, parents and carers. Substance misuse causes harm to communities through associated crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour (ASB), with survey evidence showing that nearly 25% of Solihull residents consider drug use and dealing as a problem in their local area.

The Solihull Drug and Alcohol Action Team, part of the Safer Solihull Partnership, aims to reduce the harm caused by drugs and alcohol in the Borough. Our priorities are to:
• Enable more drug users to manage and eliminate their dependence on illegal drugs
• Reduce chronic and acute ill health caused by alcohol resulting in fewer alcohol related accidents, incidents and hospital admissions.
• Prevent harm to children, young people and families affected by drug and alcohol misuse
• Protect communities through robust enforcement to tackle drug and alcohol related crime and anti-social behaviour

If you or someone you know is affected by drug or alcohol use...
