Nature Conservation Volunteers
Our Local Nature Reserve Officer develops projects, tasks and training for the mid-week and weekend volunteer groups, undertaking work within Council parks and local nature reserves.
There are two independent conservation volunteer groups who meet regularly to carry out tasks in Solihull’s woodlands and nature reserves, with their work benefiting people and wildlife. The groups undertake tasks on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the year.
Tasks vary to reflect the change in seasons and include habitat management, enhancement and creation, hedge laying, coppicing and fencing work.
Anyone can help make a difference to their local environment and all help is welcomed. Experience is not necessary but an adult must accompany under 16s. Just bring a packed lunch, sturdy boots and dress appropriately for the task and the weather. Tools will be supplied and training will be given on the day.
If you would like to help look after nature, make new friends and have some fun, call for Solihull Council on 0121 704 6537 for more information.
