Rough Sleeping

Solihull Council, Solihull Community Housing and partner organisations are committed to ensuring that there is a proactive approach to supporting rough sleepers off the street and developing plans to help them to get into accommodation and access support.

If you are sleeping rough or come across someone who is sleeping rough contact Solihull Community Housing on 0121 717 1515 anytime.

Severe Weather

Good practice guidance from the Department for Communities & Local Government recommends that local authorities have emergency provisions in place to prevent the loss of life of rough sleepers in severe weather conditions. Provision should be triggered when the night time temperature is predicted to be zero degrees or below for three consecutive nights.

Solihull Council and partners wants to ensure that anyone without a place to stay is able to access shelter during freezing temperatures, regardless of the normal homelessness eligibility rules.

If you, or someone you are aware of, is facing the prospect of sleeping rough during freezing weather please contact Solihull Community Housing on 0121 717 1515 anytime. If you become aware of a rough sleeper outside of office hours the out-of-hours call-handling service will take emergency calls 24 hours a day.
