Renewable energy
Do you want to go further with saving energy?
You can make a big difference to how much energy you save by investing in renewable energy products. Renewable energy products use natural energy sources like the sun, wind and the earth to heat and light your home without producing waste or damaging the environment.
For information on this please contact the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre on Freephone 0300 123 1234.
Feed-in Tariff Scheme
Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) became available in Great Britain on 1st April 2010, the scheme is not available in Northern Ireland - however this is under review.
Under this scheme energy suppliers have to make regular payments to householders and communities who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electricity panels (PV) or wind turbines. (compulsory for the big six suppliers)
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a Government fund to support the use of renewable and low carbon heat over the coming decades. It is also a key contributor in achieving the UK’s share of the EU’s renewable energy targets and the Carbon Plan, which provides the two key objectives of the scheme.
Further details about RHI is available on the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) website.
