Adapting homes

We provide help and advice in adapting a council or private property to enable people who need support to live independently at home.

With our partners we have set up an organisation called Solihull Independent Living (SIL), which is a not-for-profit organisation that offers people who are older, disabled or on a low income an affordable way to repair, improve or adapt their homes.

It also aims to help people carry on living comfortably at home and stay independent rather than moving into residential care.

  The Disabled Facilities Grant is available for a range of work that will help a disabled person remain in their home.
