We aim to conserve and enhance the landscape character and ecology of the Borough. To manage and maintain its diverse range of bio-diversity and protect our best wildlife sites.
- Woodland survey
- Co-ordinating the implementation of native woodland plans for the Council's 25 native woodlands
- Writing woodland management plans for Council owned woods
- Advising woodland landowners on woodland management
- Advice to schools on tree planting and aftercare
- Preparing funding bids for woodland management eg SITA Enriching Nature Fund, England Woodland Grant Scheme
- Liasing with the Forestry Commission
- Holding the register for applications for Forestry Commission felling licences within the Borough
- Liasing with forestry contractors
- Woodland monitoring
- Forestry, Wooldands
