We aim to conserve and enhance the landscape character and ecology of the Borough. To manage and maintain its diverse range of bio-diversity and protect our best wildlife sites.
  • Woodland survey
  • Co-ordinating the implementation of native woodland plans for the Council's 25 native woodlands
  • Writing woodland management plans for Council owned woods
  • Advising woodland landowners on woodland management
  • Advice to schools on tree planting and aftercare
  • Preparing funding bids for woodland management eg SITA Enriching Nature Fund, England Woodland Grant Scheme
  • Liasing with the Forestry Commission
  • Holding the register for applications for Forestry Commission felling licences within the Borough
  • Liasing with forestry contractors
  • Woodland monitoring
