    We have a duty to collect all rent due for our dwellings as this income is vital to fund other housing services. We take all reasonable steps to try to resolve tenancy or rent arrears problems. However, if all else fails, we will apply to the Court to repossess a property.

  • Lighting - council communal flats
    We are responsible for repairs to communal areas in blocks of flats including stairs, landings, door entry systems, communal lighting, communal windows and courtyards. If you notice a light bulb which needs replacing, please report it to us as soon as possible.

    You have the right to carry out improvements to your home, provided you ask for permission (in writing) and carry out any work to the guidelines that we give you.

    An applicant who has been informed that they are ineligible for an allocation of housing accommodation, who is unhappy about having their housing need priority reduced or removed, or who wishes to question any decision made about the facts of their case, can ask for a review.
