Houses in multiple occupation (HMO's) are premises in which tenants share parts of the accommodation (kitchens, bathrooms, toilets or simply the hallway or stairs) with people who are not part of the same household.

Safety inspection - homes in multiple occupation
The Council has a proactive inspection programme of HMOs (homes in multiple occupation). If conditions in the properties inspected are not up to standard, the landlord or owner is required to improve them.
