Many council tenants mistakenly believe their furniture, personal belongings and decorations are automatically insured against theft or damage from fire and burst pipes.
Unfortunately this is not the case - we do not automatically provide household contents insurance.
But we do make it easy for you to insure your belongings under a special household contents insurance scheme for council tenants and leaseholders.
