Solihull as a place to live and work

images of Solihull

Solihull is a thriving and prosperous place that continues to change and grow.

The borough has a strong reputation for its competitive economy, good schools and a high quality environment, which make it the place of choice for many to live, work and visit.

Almost two thirds of its 18,000 hectares are made up of rural farmland - much of which is green belt, interspersed with rural villages.

But Solihull, also has two bustling built up areas, in the north around Chelmsley Wood and in the south-west around Solihull town.

Located between Birmingham to the west and Coventry and Warwickshire to the east, we are at the heart of the regional and national motorway and rail networks. The international gateway of Birmingham International Airport ensures that we have good transport links with the region and beyond. Birmingham International Railway Station is also located in the borough.

Most Solihull residents enjoy good health, and over 80% say that they are satisfied with their local area.
