How to get involved
One of the key aims of the new planning system is to strengthen public involvement in planning by ensuring that everyone has the opportunity, and is encouraged, to become involved in shaping the future of Solihull.
We have produced the Solihull Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) to set out how and when we will involve local people and stakeholders in all planning matters, including planning policy and proposal documents and planning applications across the whole borough.
We have also set up a LDF consultation database to enable people to tell us what areas of planning they are interested in, what documents they want to be involved in the production of and how they like to be contacted.
If you would like to be kept informed when we produce the various parts of our LDF please complete the LDF Consultation Database form attached below. This form can also be used to amend or update your details.
Solihull Statement of Community Involvement
The Solihull Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), our policy on community and stakeholder involvement in planning, was formally adopted on 22 February 2007.
Copies of the adopted SCI, the adoption statement and the Inspectors report can be found on the right of this page. Alternatively paper copies can be obtained from the Sustainable Development Team (contact details found at the bottom of the page).
The SCI is the first step, under the new planning system, towards raising the profile of, and securing more continuous community and stakeholder involvement in planning processes. The SCI commits to regularly reviewing its effectiveness and any comments or suggestions you may have would be welcomed. Contact details for the Sustainable Development Team, who are responsible for the SCI, are set out below.
