What's Happening and When
Our Local Development Scheme (LDS) is our work programme for the next three years from April 2007 to March 2010.Since the publication of the LDS we have now decided to carry out more research and consultation before we start to develop our LDF policies which means the work programme in the LDS will need to be revised. The regulations for producing LDFs are due to change in April and until the new regulations are issued we are unable to make the necessary changes. However, it is likely that we will be consulting on our Core Strategy Issues & Options in September/October 2008, with the Core Strategy being adopted towards the end of 2010.
Tell Us What You Think of the Borough
Planning affects every aspect of our lives from the house we live in, the places we go and how we get there. Tell us what you like and dislike about the Borough, by filling in the form on the right so that we can take your views into account in shaping the future of Solihull.
Local Development Framework Stakeholder Conference
On 10 April 2008 we held a Local Development Framework Stakeholder conference at the Library Studio in Solihull. Over 50 community and other stakeholders attended the event to begin the initial process of identifying and debating the key issues that are important for Solihull.
The event included a presentation after which delegates took part in two workshop sessions. The first session involved identifying the key issues that should be addressed in the Solihull LDF. The second session involved establishing linkages between the key issues, identifying whether the issues are specific to particular areas of Solihull or are Borough-wide and determining whether any physical changes are required to address the issues.
A copy of the LDF stakeholder conference presentation and notes of the workshop sessions can be found on the right of this page.
Land for new development - Housing Land Availability Assessment
We are starting to work on one of the main studies to inform the LDF.
As part of the Housing Land Availability Assessment we are required to involve local communities and stakeholders in identifying suitable sites for development or redevelopment. This will help us in making decisions on which sites will be identified for developed to meet our future housing requirements. If you would like to propose land for new housing or any other use you can use the attached form.
