Solihull is twinned with similar towns in Germany and France, maintaining, educational and economic links.

Main-Taunus-Kreis in Germany is in the state of Hesse, to the west of Frankfurt. Cholet in France is situated in the Main-et-Loire department north of Nantes. Many Solihull Schools have links with our twinning partners.

Solihull Twinning Association

The Solihull Twinning Association was formed in 1978 and meets monthly to raise funds and organise visits for their members to Main-Taunus-Kreis and Cholet and host visitors from both towns.

Since its formation the Twinning Association has been instrumental in introducing many contacts including sports, commerce, social and educational links. Exchange visits usually involve hosting in each other's homes, which gives direct experience of daily life in the host country.

Membership of the Solihull Twinning Association is open to all.
