National Year of Reading COMPETITIONS

Win a visit from children’s poet laureate – Michael Rosen

To celebrate National Poetry Day on the 9th of October, the National Year of Reading is holding a competition in which a school can win a visit from the children's laureate Michael Rosen.

To enter, pupils and teachers can download the 'Word are Ours' poem on the National Year of Reading website

Using this as inspiration, pupils can write a verse of around 20-30 words and email these to competition@yearofreading.org.uk before the closing date on the 12th of December 2008

Win a school visit from an Olympic athlete

Competition for 13-19 year old photographers.

What words and signs do you think would represent where you live to visitors of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games?

The National Year of Reading working with London 2012 wants to hear from you!

If you’re a young person aged 13-19, we want you to grab your camera, snap away and send us your pictures of the words and signs that you feel represent your local area and what it means to be British.
