Library Reading Groups
We all know reading is fun but did you know you can have fun 'reading' with other people?
Many people find that their enjoyment of books is improved by sharing the experience. Readers Groups are a great way of discovering new authors and genres and meeting like minded people.
Our Library- based Readers Groups get together about once a month/6 weeks for tea and book talk. You don't have to do any homework or write a learned review- just come along for an informal chat about why you loved (or hated) your latest read. There's no pressure to contribute, but everyone has the chance to do so. Groups agree the next book well in advance so everyone has the opportunity to read it.

Running your own group
We provide support to non-library reading groups. If you run, or are thinking of starting a reading group you can download the Books Connect Reading Pack, full of great advice as well as lots of useful websites.
You can also download the multiple copies list which includes titles from some of the major book awards and prizes, indicating whether large print or spoken word versions are available.
We offer a Reading Group ticket and for £2.75 the group can reserve multiple copies of the same title, which are issued for an extended loan period.
If you would like to find out more about this service, please ask a member of staff at your local library.
