Shirley Library
Library details
Shirley Library has something for everyone. It holds a wide range of books and resources for all ages, from babies to those who have retired. Regular rhyme times for babies and toddlers and Storytimes for the under fives take place in the children's library. Adults are also served well with regular Readers Circle, Poetry meetings and visiting speakers. The library has a dedicated computer area for public use, with free access to the internet, and office packages. Photocopying and Fax facilities are also available.

The library is situated in Church Road off the main Stratford Road near to the parish Church of St James.

Audio Books go Digital at the Library
Enjoy a new concept in audio books from Solihull Libraries. We now stock the pre-loaded digital audio-book system from Clipper Audio called Playaway. The Playaway audio book is lightweight, compact and very easy to use - simply plug in earphones and press play. Compact and light, weighing only 160g this system is palm sized so users can fit a whole book into their pocket - or carry it around the neck enabling the user to listen anywhere. You can even plug Playaway into a car or home audio system.
The system is easy to use and the simple keypad lets you play, pause, bookmark and even adjust the voice speed. The special Bookmark button - allows the user to set up to fifty bookmarks at the touch of a button so you will never lose your place again.

Regular Meetings and Events
- Baby Rhyme Time -Tuesdays during term time at 10.30 am and 2.00pm
- Story Time - Fridays at 2.30pm for children under 5
- Readers Group - Mondays every four weeks at 2.00pm. Please ask staff for details
- Poetry Coffee Morning - held quarterly, please ask staff for further details
- Homework Club - Thursday 3.45pm - 5.45pm
