Game dealer licences
Information about game dealer licences.
The introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Game) Order 2007, which came into force on 1st August 2007, removed the requirements for licenses to kill or take game, and to deal in game, which had previously been issued under the Game Act 1831 and the Game Licences Act 1860.
Although the licensing requirements have been removed, a new criminal offence of selling birds that have been unlawfully killed or taken when the person concerned knew that they had been unlawfully killed or taken during the close season, has been introduced.
