Licensing - track betting

Track Betting Licences are issued under the Betting Gaming & Lotteries Act 1963.

A licence will be required from the local authority, by anyone carrying on 'bookmaking', at any betting track. A betting track includes any premises on which races of any description, athletic sports or other sporting events, take place.

The implementation of the Gambling Act 2005, (this is expected to be September 2007) will change the way that track betting is controlled
