Money Counts Advice Point in North Solihull

With the cost of living continuing to rise, Solihull Council and its partners have set up a series of workshops offering residents free, confidential advice on a range of services.

A team of specialist advisors from local organisations will provide information and support on a variety of financial and employment matters. These include training, benefits, money and debt issues, child care and children’s activities as well as support for parents.

Partners include the council’s employment support and benefits services, Citizens Advice Solihull Borough, Children’s Centres, Family Information Service and Credit Union will all be on hand to provide a one-to-one service. 

Workshops will be taking place at two local community venues in North Solihull, with two sessions running every month; starting again from January to September 2012.

Both workshops will start from 8:30am to 3pm at:

• Renewal Walnut Family Centre in Chelmsley Wood - on the first Friday of every month (except April 2012). This workshop starts again on Friday 6 January.
• The SWANN Centre in Smith’s Wood - on the third Wednesday of each month (except April 2012). This workshop starts again on Wednesday 18 January.

The workshops are being funded by the North Solihull Partnership and supported by Solihull’s Financial Inclusion Group, aimed at ensuring everyone has access to appropriate family support services.
