Free/Cheap entertainment

Good local entertainment or things to do that are free or won’t cost the earth.

Local libraries

Don't forget there are many activities and events that are free in Solihull. Borough libraries are free to all Solihull residents. It’s easy to join and all you need is one form of ID that confirms your address, such as a utility bill.

Solihull libraries offer many free activities to choose from, whatever your age. There are many Story/Rhyme Time sessions for babies and young children under the age of five and for older children there are homework clubs.

Readers' Circles and Book Clubs are also held at many of our libraries. The groups are informal and usually take place once a month or every six weeks.

There are also a number of free exhibitions and heritage events that run throughout the year at borough libraries.

If you haven’t already been, check out The Gallery at Central Library which runs a programme of art exhibitions throughout the year.

Visit the Solihull Gallery pages to find out more about up and coming events.

Did you know that you can tap into a wealth of reference services with our online virtual library. You can get 24 hour access to this major online information source that you won’t find on Google.

Free to library members all you need to do is click on to which reference source you want and type in your library membership number and you’re off.

If you are a library member you get an hour fee each day to use the Internet and other resources.  If you not a member, it's easy to join. Visitors can use our computers for a small charge.  Visit our Internet computers page for further information.
