Solihull Music Service Plays Wembley Stadium

Students with a Solihull Music banner at Wembley

On Sunday 5th May Soul Matters performed at the Conference league Play off final at Wembley Stadium.

Soul Matters is one of Solihull finest young bands. This band is made up of students ages ranging from year 8 to year 13  from various Solihull schools. The band is run by the Solihull Music Service, which provides music making opportunities and lessons for all Solihull pupils. Soul matters have appeared in their many different line ups at The Royal Albert Hall, NEC, NIA, Ronnie Scotts and will be featuring in the National Rock and Pop Festival at the 02 in Birmingham. The reason the band performed at Wembley was due to the partnership formed between the Solihull Music Service and Solihull Moors FC.

Solihull Music staff pitch side at WembleyThis partnership was supported by the conference league community fund (the first of its kind) to enable regular performances at the Solihull Moors enabling it to be opened  up to the community. Over the last year, because of this funding there have been over 20 different performances, with over 80 different school based bands taking part, with an audience of 1000+ making use of the club. This partnership has been a resounding and innovative success.

We hope you enjoyed the performance.
