National Rock and Pop Festival
The festival will take place at the original home of ‘Rock and Roll’ the Birmingham Town Hall, Birmingham city centre starting on Saturday 17th July through to Tuesday 20th July.
Opened in 1834, this prestigious venue has been host to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly. And now the 2010 National Rock and Pop Festival.
The National Rock and Pop Festival is a non profit event run by teachers for pupils in education. It is our passion to provide a top class performance opportunity for pupils of all ages. Everyone who visits the event will be blown away by the magnitude of the setup including 30 foot video walls, professional lighting and P.A. The stage has to be big to encompass the wide variety of acts including massed choirs, jazz bands and string ensembles, not forgetting the numerous pop and rock bands in their many different guises.
The Festival is a unique celebration of live performance and access to making music. It is held in a supportive, non-competitive environment with students encouraging each other and sharing their musical experiences.
As well as all of the above the Festival is a registered centre for the Arts Award, so as well as taking part in the event, students will be able to use it as part of their bronze or silver Arts award.
