Anne and Annie a tale from two Brummies
Come along to Castle Bromwich Library on Thursday 15th May 2008 at 10.30am and listen to two popular local authors, Anne Bennett and Annie Murray, talking about their different lives, personal experiences of Birmingham and their books.
Anne Bennett was born in a back-to-back house in the Horsefair district of Birmingham. The daughter of Roman Catholic, Irish immigrants, she considers herself to be an Irish Brummie and feels therefore that she has a foot in both cultures. Her novels include A Sister’s Promise, Walking Back to Happiness and To Have and to Hold. Annie Murray’s first job took her to Birmingham and in 1992 she began writing her first Birmingham novel, Birmingham Rose, which was a Times bestseller. She has written many more highly successful novels including Birmingham Blitz, Birmingham Friends, The Narrowboat Girl, Chocolate Girls, and most recently The Bells of Bournville Green.
You will also have the chance to buy books and have them signed by the author at this FREE event. To reserve your place contact the library on 0121 747 3708.
