Step back in time with Solihull Council
From Press Office on Tuesday, August 05, 2008
Solihull Council is inviting people to take a look the borough in days gone by through social network site, Myspace.
Working in partnership with Solihull Local History Circle, the Council has been putting together short video clips of the borough as it used to be and posting them on Mysolihull, the Council’s Myspace page.
People can log onto Mysolihull and view footage of the High Street dating back to the 40s, with old shops including Hull’s the butchers and Misses Blizzards fruit shop.
There is also a space on the page where people can share their thoughts and favourite places in Solihull with others.
To view the video clips, or to become a member of Mysolihull visit www.myspace.com/mysolihull.
Footage can also be found on Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/
If anybody has any footage of Solihull, past or present, please contact Tracey Williams, Local Studies Librarian on 0121 704 6976 or email heritage@solihull.gov.uk .
