From Press Office on 10 September 2008
A mother and father have been fined for failing to ensure their 13-year-old son attended school.
Solihull Magistrates Court heard how, between 7th January this year to 29th April, the secondary school pupil attended just 72 sessions out of a possible 116, with only 13 of the 44 absences authorised.
At the hearing on Tuesday 9th September, both parents were found guilty and fined £437.50 each. They were ordered to pay costs of £216.53 each as well as a victim surcharge of £15 each.
