From Press office on 18 September 2008
A mother has been fined for failing to ensure her 14-year-old son attended school.
Solihull Magistrates Court heard how, between 3rd March this year and 18th July, the secondary school pupil attended just 90 sessions out of a possible 156, with only 28 of the 66 absences authorised.
At the hearing on Wednesday 17th September, the mother was found guilty and fined £160. She was ordered to pay costs of £75 as well as a victim surcharge of £15.
