Solihull Council’s Business Investment Team welcomes LaSer UK to its new headquarters in Solihull.

Solihull Council has welcomed the expansion of national credit and finance company LaSer UK, following the creation of its new headquarters in the town centre.

Solihull Council’s Business Investment Team helped the business with its expansion plan by identifying the new office as a place for the business to grow.

The move has bought nearly 150 jobs to Solihull following the closure of its Yardley office. With the transfer of staff already based in Solihull, its new Head Quarters in Chadwick House, Blenheim Court, Warwick Road now employs 400 staff.

LaSer UK, part of the French owned Galeries Lafayette and BNP Paribas groups, was established in 1973 from the financial services arm of Selfridges. It was the first to launch a UK High Street retail credit card with Adamskids.  It now works with partners including JJB Sports, West Bromwich Albion Football Club and Flybe.

Councillor Ian Hillas, Cabinet Member for Community & Economic Regeneration said: “LaSer UK’s commitment to the Borough confirms that the area is a prime location for international businesses.  Solihull has the highest concentration of professional services companies in the region, as a percentage of total businesses and of total employment – mirroring London.”

Stephen Hunt, Managing Director of LaSer UK, said: “Our development within Solihull provides us with a prestigious working environment and an excellent location to reach our national customers.

We look forward to working with the Council’s Business Investment Team and are interested in their support initiatives for local businesses, including assistance with local recruitment and networking opportunities.”

Solihull Council works closely with its partners to offer a complete package of support to existing businesses in Solihull and those wishing to relocate to the Borough.
