Family Fun in your local library this Spring

From Press office on 02 February 2010

Solihull Libraries will be hosting a range of fun family events for under-fives and their carers throughout February and March.

The new programme kicks off this Thursday (4 February), when the popular Sally Tonge will be telling stories and singing songs at Dickens Heath Library (10.00am), Shirley Library (11.30am) and Balsall Common Library (2.00pm).

Sally will be in the borough again on Tuesday 9 February, this time visiting Kingshurst Library (10.00am), the new Chelmsley Wood Library (11.30am) and Castle Bromwich Library (2.00pm).

Sally’s final appearances this Spring will be on Monday 22 February at the new Chelmsley Wood Library (10.00am), Knowle Library (11.30am) and Solihull Central Library (2.00pm).

Also making a return visit to Solihull this month is the energetic Jo Jingles, who makes music and rhymes for children from 18 months to 4 years old.  You can catch Jo on Thursday 11 February at Meriden Library (1.00pm) and Marston Green Library (2.30pm).

As well as the date in February, Jo will be doing the rounds on Thursday 4 March, stopping off at Castle Bromwich Library (1.00pm) and Hobs Moat (2.30pm).

Also visiting next month, on Tuesday 9 March, is Jon Williams, the Flying Potter, who will bring his creative pottery workshops to the new Chelmsley Wood Library (10.30am) and Solihull Central Library (2.00pm).

Finally Richard Salt, who uses music and movement to introduce instruments and rhythm, will be at Olton Library on Tuesday 16 March at 10.30am.

Places on all of these events are free but contact your local library to book in advance and avoid disappointment. All children must be accompanied by an adult and be supervised at all times.

These sessions are also a chance to pick up your free Bookstart book pack and enjoy sharing stories with your child.
