Many of our libraries now have self-service kiosks which means library members can take out, return and renew their items simply by using their library card.

Solihull Central Library is our flagship library and is a focal point for a range of information including events, Council services, learning and work, business information, local history and family history.

Our newest library has recently opened in Chelmsley Wood as part of the shopping centre which has been redeveloped.

Inspiration and sharing

If you've just finished a good book and are stuck on what to read next, or you haven't picked up a book in a while and want to get the reading bug back, then Solihull libraries can help.

Our library staff are always happy to help when you visit or you could try our new 'Book Doctor' scheme for advice and recommendations on a book to suit you.

If you like sharing the experience and enjoyment of reading a book with other people, why not join one of our regular reading groups?

Library events

Solihull libraries are a hive of activity throughout the year. There are regular events such as Storytimes and Rhyme Time sessions for younger children as well as poetry and author events for adults.

Learning

There's a wide range of courses and learning opportunities available in libraries from computers for beginners to English and Maths.

How do I join the library?

It’s free to join and you can use your card at any Solihull library. Just call in to any library and show one form of identification that has your name and address on it.

You can use your library card to search or renew a book or reserve a computer online.
