Work to town centre car parks

People who use two of the town centre’s car parks are being advised about work that will be taking place at the end of the month.
From 26 July, structural work will be taking place at both Marks and Spencer and Mell square car parks, along with work to the lifts and car park decks.
The roof deck of the Marks and Spencer car park will be closed for around 4 days in August for repairs to the surface. There will also be some spaces lost in Mell Square car park for the duration of the works. The lifts will also have to be taken out of service for two to three weeks, however this work will be staggered so there will always be a lift available.
There will also be loss of space in both car parks while the parking decks are repainted, although it these will be kept to a minimum.
It is anticipated that the works will take around six to eight weeks.
Signs will be erected in both car parks to inform drivers of the works.
