Works on Haslucks Green Road

Motorists are being advised about some forthcoming disruption on and around Haslucks Green Road, as a result of work being carried out by Severn Trent Water.
Sewer renewal work is due to take place between 26 July and 5 September. The work is part of a flood alleviation project, which will help protect local properties that have previously experienced sewer flooding.
The following roads will be closed to traffic during this period:
• Haslucks Green Road (north easterly direction) from its junction with Horrell Road to the junction with Delrene Road
• Haslucks Green Road (south westerly direction) from its junction with Hurdis Road to the junction with Velsheda Road
• Hurdis Road (north westerly direction) from its junction with Middleton Road to its junction with Haslucks Green Road
Diversions will be in place, taking traffic along Hurdis Road, Middleton Road, Velsheda Road, Horrell Road, Stroud Road and Delrene Road. As this will increase the volume of traffic on these roads, temporary parking restrictions will be in force to ensure the free flow of traffic and keep disruption to a minimum.
Other works will be carried out on the closed section of Haslucks Green Road in the same period, including the renewal of a gas main by National Grid, and the installation of a zebra crossing by Solihull Council.
Local bus services will be diverted where necessary and people should contact Travel West Midlands directly for more information.
The work has been scheduled to take place during the school holidays to minimise disruption.
