GCSE results put Solihull at the top of the class again

Solihull’s young people are celebrating after their GCSE results once again put the borough towards the top of the class.
Provisional results released today, Tuesday 24 August, show 80.7 per cent of pupils gained A*-C passes – an increase of 4.3 per cent compared to last year and above the national average of 69.1 per cent.
82.1 per cent of Solihull pupils gained five or more A*-C grades – a 4.4 per cent increase on last year.
The percentage of pupils gaining five or more A*-C grades including Maths and English is 58.0 per cent – a 3.7 per cent increase on last year.
Councillor Ian Hedley, Leader of Solihull Council, said: “Very well done to all of the borough’s GCSE students for another excellent set of results – I hope you’re as proud of how well you’ve done as we are. I would also like to thank the teachers and parents for all their hard work and support in making these excellent results happen.”
