Big plans, a big conversation - make sure you're part of it

From Councillor John Reeve, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration on 25 August 2010

Solihull residents will soon be asked for their views about a planning strategy which sets out how the Borough could develop in the future.

At the end of September the Council will be asking residents to comment on an ‘Emerging Core Strategy’ which sets out where in the borough future housing might be provided.

This Strategy will, following consultation, amendment and a public hearing, will become part of the Local Development Framework, a set of plans and policy documents which will guide how and where Solihull should develop in the future to fulfil housing and business needs and protect and improve the local environment.

Councillor John Reeve, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration said: “It is crucial that people give us their views when consultation starts. This is a strategy which will set out plans for the future of their borough, their environment and their communities and we want residents to have their say.”

Details of how people can get involved in the consultation which will start in September, will be released by the Council soon, but is likely to include exhibitions, drop-in sessions and an online survey.
