Is something funny going on in Solihull?

From Press Office on 02 May 2012

Would-be comedians are being encouraged to join a brand new comedy workshop starting on Thursday 17th May in the Studio.

The course tutor is writer and Worcestershire Poet Laureate Theo Theobald who will help his fledgling comedians write and rehearse material with the support of a group of like minded ‘first timers’ and also have some individual coaching time.
The course finale is a live show in the venue's Studio in front of a live audience of family and friends.

The five week course offers handy ‘dos and don’ts’ on how to establish a comedy persona, develop timing and technique and try out new material. The tutor and fellow group members build confidence and help each other overcome ‘performance demons'.

Theo is a published author and two times Poetry Slam competition winner in the Midlands.  Previous attendees of Theo’s workshops have gone on to great success including Ian Wilkes who has supported Patrick Monahan, winner of ITV’s Show me the Funny.

The course costs only £80 for five intensive two hour workshops starting on Thursday 17th May in the Studio and includes the final show performance on Sat 23rd June.
