Get summer sorted!
From Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Councillor Joe Tildesley on 27 June 2012
Parents who are looking for things to do with their children this summer need look no further than Solihull Council’s Family Information Service.
Their Summer Activity Guide lists what’s happening across the borough including park and library events, children’s centre activities, local attractions, clubs and groups and specialist schemes for children with disabilities.
Parents looking for childcare during the summer break can also choose from a variety of Ofsted registered holiday schemes.
Councillor Joe Tildesley, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “We all like to get out and about during the summer break and the Family Information Service is a great place for parents to find out what’s going on so that they can really make the most of the holidays. They have lots of useful information all in one place, and it’s free and impartial too”.
The Family Information Service also provides information on a range of other topics including benefits and tax credits, employment and volunteering and support for families with disabled children.
