There are plenty of events taking place in the parks during the school holidays to give your children an egg-cellent Easter!
To kick things off the Dizzy Duck Race will take place on Wednesday 12 April at Babbs Mill Local Nature Reserve, B37 6LN. Taking place between 11am and 12:30pm, with registration starting from 10:30am, children can choose a duck and wish it luck as it races along the river. Prizes will be awarded for the first three ducks to finish, and the event is suitable for visitors of all ages. Each duck costs £1.00 to enter and the meeting place for this event is beside the play area.
The next Easter event is the egg-citing Easter Egg Hunt, taking place in Elmdon Park, B92 9EY, on Good Friday, 14 April. Taking place between 11am and 3pm, children can meet the Easter bunny and find the clues along the treasure trail for a chance to win a chocolate egg. Punch and Judy shows, face painting and craft activities will also be on offer. Entry to the Easter Egg Hunt is £2.00 per child plus a small charge for some of the other attractions. The meeting point for this event is at the Tanhouse Farm Road entrance to the park.
The popular Scarecrow Making Day returns to Knowle Park, B93 9HY, on Thursday 20 April where families can have a go at making their own scarecrow and dressing them up. Hay is provided and prizes will be awarded to the best three scarecrows. This event is free, but places are limited so please contact 0121 704 8000 to reserve a place and receive an equipment list. The meeting place for this event is by the car park off Longdon Road.
