Blythe Ward by-election to take place on Thursday 1 March

Solihull Council has received a request to hold a by-election in Blythe Ward following the resignation of Councillor Alex Insley.

The Council is required by law to hold the by-election, which will take place on Thursday 1 March 2018. The date has been set in accordance with the Local Government Act 1972 which requires a poll to be held within 35 working days of the request for the by-election.

The candidates will be announced at 4.00pm on Monday 5 February.

Residents of Blythe Ward who wish to vote and who aren’t already registered to do so must register by Tuesday 13 February.

The deadline for postal applications is 5.00pm on Wednesday 14 February, and for proxy vote applications is 5.00pm on Wednesday 21 February.
