The seventh annual Solihull Apprenticeship Show takes place at the Renewal Conference Centre on Thursday 8 February between 3.00pm and 7.30pm. The event is free to attend, with no need to book.
People are invited to find out more about apprenticeships, discover what local opportunities are on offer and meet prospective employers at this popular event. They can also speak to apprentices and find out first-hand what to expect from an apprenticeship.
There are opportunities from entry level to degree, in a wide range of sectors including: automotive, accounting, childcare, construction, engineering, hairdressing, healthcare, media and theatre.
Employers attending the show include Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Graham Facilities Management, Balfour Beatty, PWC, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Ernst & Young amongst many others. There will also be stands for the training providers who offer nationally recognised qualifications alongside apprenticeship placements.
Apprenticeships give people the opportunity to earn while they learn, with a combination of studying and on the job learning.
Councillor Ken Meeson, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills, said: “The Apprenticeship Show is always a wonderful event that gives young adults in the borough a chance to find the right path for them.
"There are some top quality employers attending who provide great experience alongside a qualification. This will stand anyone completing an apprenticeship in good stead for their future, whatever they go on to do.
“I encourage anyone thinking about starting an apprenticeship to come along to the event and find out more.”
