Preliminary works to start on 'Town Centre Approach' scheme

Solihull Council is working to improve the access for pedestrians and cyclists between the town centre and Solihull Station with the ‘Town Centre Approach’.

As part of the project, a trial closure will be in place preventing motorists from turning left into Station Approach from Blossomfield Road. This closure aims to significantly improve the route for pedestrians and cyclists from the Station to the town centre.  It will provide more space when crossing Blossomfield Road.

The trial will start on Monday 5 February and will be in place for one month. During the closure, traffic volumes will be monitored to compare the effects before and after this closure was enforced.

Following the trial, if there is significant additional pressure on the local road network, the design proposals will be reviewed and alternative design approaches considered.
