As part of an A34 improvement scheme, Solihull Council is replacing and upgrading all the traffic signal equipment (excluding pedestrian crossings) between A34 Stratford Rd/Tesco exit (Hall Green) and A3400 Stratford Rd/Gate Lane/Blythe Valley Business Park exit.
There will be temporary signals and lane closures in place while the works take place. Once complete, the scheme will have improved nine traffic signalised junctions along the A34 Stratford Road corridor. The improvements aim to deliver immediate increases in capacity through re-validation and optimisation of existing traffic signal locations using the latest technology.
Works at Stratford Road/Shakespeare Drive have already been completed and works at A3400 Stratford Rd/Gate Lane/Blythe Valley Business Park Exit are expected to be completed this week.
Following this we will be upgrading the traffic signals at the junction of Stratford Road/Solihull Road from 13 November for two weeks. Most of the work will be undertaken during the evening between 7pm and 11pm to minimise impact on motorists and the local area.
There is a programme for the remaining sites, aiming for completion during February 2018. Site locations still to be refurbished are:
• Stratford Rd/Tesco (Hall Green)
• Stratford Rd/Tesco/Notcutts
• A34/A3400/M42 Junction 4
We will keep you informed with the latest developments.
