The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Stuart Davis, was recently invited to have a look around Newlands Bishop Farm and see all the wonderful work they do.
Newlands Bishop Farm was developed to give people with learning disabilities and mental health problems the chance to learn work based skills.
Due to the unique environment, people gain skills in horticulture, gardening and caring for animals, and, with a training kitchen on site, people also gain retail and catering experience.
The Mayor was given a tour of the site with some of the people currently working on the farm, and had a chance to look at the animals.
The Mayor said: ‘It was a pleasure to visit Newlands Bishop Farm and have a look around at all they have to offer for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems. It is such an important facility and I am so happy that it is here in Solihull, as it is places like this that make the Borough so brilliant.’
The farm is open to the public seven days a week from 10am - 3pm. To find out more about Newlands Bishop Farm, please visit their website: https://newlandsbishopfarm.co.uk/
