Everyone Active takes over management of local leisure centres

Everyone Active, the UK’s longest established leisure provider, officially took over the management of North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre on Friday 1 June.

Following an extensive procurement process, Solihull Council awarded the leisure operator a 10-year contract to manage its leisure services across the borough. As part of the partnership, Everyone Active is investing £1 million in the first year to deliver improved fitness provisions at both centres.

Solihull Council’s cabinet member for Leisure, Tourism and Sport, Cllr Joe Tildesley, said: “Our new partnership with Everyone Active means that we are saving money AND residents will soon be benefitting from improved leisure services.

“My portfolio – leisure, tourism and sport – is a new one for Solihull Council.  We want to make sure that we use the fact that the Commonwealth Games and City of Culture are both coming to the West Midlands to inspire local people to pursue sport at grass roots level.  Everyone Active’s investment supports this aim and will give us improved facilities to help people get more active and enjoy healthier lives.”

Jon Senior, Regional Director at Everyone Active, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Solihull Council to operate North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre.

“I would encourage anyone who is looking to improve their health and wellbeing to visit the centres to find out more about the wide range of new activities that are now available to people across the district, and how we can support them on their journey.”
