In response to the crisis and rapidly changing situation in Ukraine, many people in Solihull are looking for ways they can help refugees and people caught up in the conflict.
There is a new webpage on the council website which has some information and advice that residents may find helpful - How you can help Ukraine (solihull.gov.uk) This includes links to organisations and websites that can help people with travel advice and links to global charities that are operating in the UK and Ukraine. It also has advice on how to ‘give safely’.
Cllr Alison Rolf, Cabinet Member for Stronger and Safer Communities, said: “We have all been moved by the terrible scenes in Ukraine. The government is working with agencies to allow Ukrainian refugees into Britain and we are ready to offer sanctuary in Solihull if we are asked to. I know people will want to do all that they can to help and the new information page has some very useful information and advice.”
