Work starts to make park improvements a reality

We've started work on making £1m of improvements to Tudor Grange Park.

We asked for your views about what things you would like to see in the park back in 2005 and used your feedback to come up with our plans.

Now our plans have started to become a reality with the start of work on site, which means by the end of this year the park will have:

  • New paths and better lighting.
  • CCTV
  • Outdoor gym equipment including a rowing machine, support bars and wall bars
  • Cycle track
  • Improvements to the lake including a giant fountain, bridges, a new pool and a decked area.
  • New planting and landscaping.
  • A new, well-lit path linking the park to the town centre
  • 63, five-metre high semi-mature native Oak, Birch and Alder
  • 14, two-metre high native Black Poplar
  • 350 other native woodland trees and hundreds of ornamental shrubs.

The new cycle track is a one kilometre figure of eight circuit, and the brain-child of Solihull Cycling Club's Olympic Silver medallist, Harry Reynolds who has also clinched a £400,000 grant from Sports England's Community Club Development Programme to fund its construction.

Did you know?

  • The park improvements have been made possible through the sale of a piece of land for housing and for a home for ex-service people. The sale also allowed us to build a brand new leisure centre at Tudor Grange and redevelop the facilities at North Solihull Sports Centre.
