Solihull Parks Directory - Dorridge Park and Dorridge Wood
Dorridge Park and Dorridge Wood, Local Nature Reserve
Location: Dorridge, off Arden Road
The Park was created on land donated to the Council in 1969. Formerly the area was farmland and woodland, providing a town in the country feel. The woodlands in the Park date back to 1888 and is the last remaining area of a larger fifty acre wood mentioned in 1556. The ancient woodlands provide home to a wide variety of trees including; Scotts Pine, Oak, Ash, Wych Elm, Sycamore and Beech. The Park is a natural refuge for many animals including foxes, owls and voles. Wildflowers also thrive here and you can view Bluebells, Dogs Mercury and Wood Sorrel.
