Planning Services & Building Control wants to apologise to customers for the recent delays in processing applications.
The team is experiencing a large volume of work alongside a temporary issue of low staff numbers.
Because of this we are not able to meet the usual service level our customers have come to expect.
A new ICT system that is currently being installed should help us improve our efficiency and the way we deal with customers. We are confident when the system is up and running (early 2015), we will be able to deliver an improved service to customers.
In the meantime the team are doing their best to prioritise the workload and deal with enquiries as soon as possible.
